My Yearly Mammogram

Yesterday was my yearly Mammogram, 18 years ago God healed me from Breast Cancer. Every year since then I get a mammogram and an ultra sound. In the past, as the months went by and December approached it was not an easy time for me. As the time got closer, I could feel myself starting to slowly move from a place of peace and protection to worry, fear and negative thinking

I know that these are natural feelings that we all experience when facing the unknown. But how we react to these feelings is what gets us through the journey. If we allow these emotions to distract and dominate us from God and his purpose we will become a prisoner to it. I know, I use to be right there for many years.

I know that God doesn't want us to live in fear or worry about our life. He wants us to cast all those cares and let him fight our battles. If you believe and trust in God then you should be walking by Faith. Faith and Fear can't exist together, one will surely dominate the other. Remember you have the power to chose.

To get through this journey, I leaned on God even more, I reflected back on past challenges, my transformation and growth, where I am now and my relationship with God. I couldn't have made it this far without him. I have become aware of my thoughts and counter act any negative thinking with a scripture, positive affirmation or just get up and do something.
When dealing with challenging times, it's important to keep your focus on God and not get distracted. Being self-aware helps you to know what are trigger points for you that could take you back to a place of darkness and worry and it's wise to stay away from people, places and things that doesn't feed into your well being.

I went to my appointment walking by faith in God. Keeping focused on his word and promises. Got my results and the Dr said "see you next year". God keeps his word, All he ask of us is to put him first in our life, follow his instructions and trust him. He will meet all our needs.

God healed me back then and still continue to bless me now above and beyond what I could have imagined.

I say give God a chance and get to know him, spend time in prayer and devotion, arm yourself with his word so when the time comes you will not be caught off guard.

Scriptures:

  • But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you. Matthew 6:33
  • Cast you cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22
  • Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8
  • Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it: I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. Jeremiah 33:6

Lets talk about it - How do you get through challenging situations?
