Job Search Over 55 - Outfit of The Day

This was an Awesome week. I accomplished everything that I had on my to - do list. I had my regular check in Dr. appt for labs, happy to report all is well. God is a healer and continues to heal.

Job Search

I have been approaching my job search with the mindset that if I do my part God will do the rest. So I have been looking and applying to positions that fit my experience, skillset and knowledge,  with companies that align with my values.

So this week I had my first round interview with a company that's inline with what I am looking for. Soon after, I was contacted again with next steps for the second round interview. God moves in mysterious ways, when you do your part and let him do the rest.

I am excited about the second round, but I also know that God is in charge and if it's for me, it will be mine and if not , there is something better he has planned for me.  I have learned that sometimes God puts us in a situation to prepare us for the next part of his plan. So I am just enjoying this journey and watching God move because I know I will end up exactly where I am suppose to be.

Spent time this week perusing around the city doing a little shopping, people watching, enjoying life and making a conscious effort to live in the present moment.

Things I learned or was reminded of this week

  • Ask, Seek and have faith, when the time is right God will open doors
  • God moves in his own time, so learn to have patience
  • Live in the present moment and enjoy the journey so you don't miss out on Gods miracles
  • Everything you need will be there for you when it's time
  • What is meant for you is already yours and nothing can stop it

The Oufit

I felt real good in this outfit, It's amazing how an outfit can boost your confidence and put a smile on your face. It was the color and the fabric for me. The top is bright, vibrant and soft. The pant is linen, comfortable with a baggy fit just the way I like it in the summer.

Bright colors are not usually a thing that I gravitate towards. I like more muted and basic colors, but I started making a more conscious effort to include brighter colors  into my wardrobe because it lifts your mood and take a basic outfit to another level.

Back on the Job Market at 55 Plus

Well it's official, I am now a job seeker. After 4 years on sick leave from the work force. I went from being on dialysis, to transplant surgery, to healing, recovery, to embarking on a new chapter in my life. The power of God is amazing.

I am excited and looking forward to the journey. I know a lot of things have changed since the last time I worked, which was back in 2019. However,  I am well prepared and up for the challenge.

I am confident in knowing that God will open doors for me and place me right where I should be no doubt.

Preparation for the Journey

Over the past 4 months I have been busy, revamped my entire resume, took some refresher Accounting and Excel courses and got certified in QuickBooks Online something that has been on my bucket list for a while.  All this in preparation to get back into the workforce.

The Outfit

How is the weather out where everyone is?  I know in some parts of the US it is brutal but in NY we are getting our share of heat, humidity and rain storms.

See, I love summer weather as long as the temperature doesn't go above 85 and it's not humid. So far this weather and I have a love hate relationship going on right now.

However on those days when I have to go out,  I select what I am wearing carefully. I like to stay cool, comfortable and dry from all that heat and humidity.  I usually opt for loose fitting and comfortable clothing just like this outfit.

It's lightweight, soft, loose fitting, breathable and comfortable with a drawstring waist and pockets. This is a win win for me.
